Sam & Nic's Vineyard Wedding

Following a romantic proposal on the canals of Amsterdam, Holland, Samantha and Nicholas fulfilled their wedding dream of a lush vinyard wedding with family and friends.

WHERE IT ALL BEGAN

Sam and Nic’s love story first began back in 2011 when a photo shared on Facebook of Sam’s gorgeous Table Mountain view from her apartment, caught the eye and Nic who happen to have the exact same view from his apartment. Little did they know, childhood friends who lost touch, were living right next door to each other.

THE I DO'S

From the onset, Sam and Nic desired a family orientated wedding, located in the romantic vineyards in Cape Town. Filled with elegant touches and sophisticated details right from the start, the invites featured sketched olive branches on transparent paper, wrapped in a thin hessian ribbon, all custom created and designed by the incredibly talented Camilla Jones.

The ceremony took place in a quaint chapel on the hills of the Montpelier vineyard, with breath-taking views and floral touches of white roses, lisianthas and rustic greenery, the chapel was a glimpse of heaven. Outside the chapel were refreshments, Ice water and grapes, where the guests could enjoy while waiting for the bride to arrive and after the ceremony when waiting for the transport to the canapés.

Making their way to the wine estates gardens, the guests would be welcomed with a selection of delicious canapés and a well-stocked vibrant gin bar. The gardens hosted different lawn games, such as bowls and lawn darts, to keep the guest having fun. Sam and Nic also decided to place their guest favours at the lawn just in case anyone got a bit chilly. They opted for neutral blankets as the favours, this was a strategic decision, allowing the guests to use their gift on the wedding night if it got cold.

The rustic yet sophisticated reception was held in the cellar of the Montpellier wine Estate, in Cape Town. The room was filled with fresh white florals and rustic greenery. The tables were placed in long barn style setting, and were styled with glass cylinder vases and white pillar candles in and amongst long greenery runners with white floral touches and Proteas.

TEARS WERE ROLLING

The special moment that had a few tears rolling, the moment Samantha’s father saw her for the first time before he walked her down the aisle. A man who doesn’t normally cry, sobbed as he laid eyes on his oldest daughter in her wedding gown.

Sam wore an elegant detailed white silk gown custom designed by Loredana Amorim. Loredana’s creativity and attention to detail are what brought the design to life. Sam was unsure about what she wanted, but had a few dress inspirations. Loredana took all the dresses into account and designed a stunning gown that was embroidered with silk flowers and pearls, covered with Italian silk, and featured stunning beaded detail. Not to forget the bright red show stopper shoes that complement perfectly. Sam’s gown exuded luxury and sophistication, styled with an up do hairstyle, natural soft makeup and a gentle rosy lip, Sam was the true definition of a glowing bride!
